I’ve already posted 2 recipes from Elana’s new book (here and here), and this is a quick review and Giveaway of Paleo Cooking from Elana’s Pantry! It’s your chance to win a copy of this amazing Paleo cookbook.
Who is Elana?
I’ve been reading Elana’s Pantry for years, but I hadn’t realized that Elana had been eating grain-free since 2001! I’m pretty sure I was still gorging on ramen noodles and cheese on toast back then. Her journey through gluten-free (after her son was diagnosed with celiac) and through the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) (to resolve her own digestive issues) is wonderful to hear about. It makes me feel that anything and everything is possible.
What’s so great about Paleo Cooking from Elana’s Pantry?
As one reader recently pointed out to me, there are a lot of Paleo cookbooks out there! But what makes Elana’s book so special is that she’s created beautiful and delicious Paleo recipes that make you feel like you’re just eating any other “normal” meal. With recipes like bagels, nut-free bread, sesame fish sticks, strawberry rhubarb crisp, and more, it’s really like you’re just eating a nice hearty home-made meal. If anyone’s tells you that Paleo is a restrictive weird diet, then just point them to all the recipes in Elana’s book and they’ll soon realize that there’s nothing odd about eating delicious real foods!
The book starts with the Paleo Pantry (a great selection of Paleo essentials ranging from the well-known coconut oil to the less well-known ume plum vinegar (a new discover for me!)). Then there are almost 100 recipes covering every meal of the day and more. And of course, the photography throughout is stunning (which I’m sure you know from reading Elana’s blog). I highly recommend you get your copy today (you can pre-order on Amazon here).
