Real Life Paleo Meal Plan: Day 4

Didn’t do too much cooking today – we spent most of Valentine’s day in the beautiful Point Lobos State Reserve near Monterey (see photo slide show below). We saw rabbits, 3 whales (my first time!), several types of beautiful birds, some deer right next to our car, and some sea lions in the water.

Breakfast/Lunch: Jeremy finished off the last of the chili (recipe here), and I made dad and me a quick egg drop soup (recipe here) with Swiss chard fresh from the garden, 2 zucchinis, a few cherry tomatoes, and some cilantro. I used a combination of homemade bone broth (recipe here) and homemade chicken broth (recipe here). I also made a quick side dish with Napa cabbage, cilantro, and lemon juice.

While out in Monterey, Jeremy had a snack of Wellshire Farm Turkey Sticks, which we buy from Whole Foods.

The scenery in Monterey was amazing, and the weather perfect for rambling along the coast. Even though I didn’t have my camera, I was still able to capture some stunning photos with my iPhone – take a look at the slideshow of photos below.

Dinner: We picked up some tilapia at Costco along with a bunch of other meats and vegetables (as well as more coconut oil), and we had pan-fried tilapia (recipe here) along with a few random vegetables (stragglers left in the fridge) sautéed together. I had a small glass of the chardonnay (that we opened last night) with dinner, and then a few pieces too many of the 70% dark chocolate after dinner!
