Study Shows That Losing Fat is EASY. I Should Have Known...

I spent a lot of my life trying to lose fat and get healthier.

I struggled for many years, and I know many people who had it much worse than me.

But losing fat and getting healthy is rarely as easy as it sounds in retrospect.

Light Physical Activity Is Superb For Health and Fat Loss

There’s mounting evidence that when it comes to exercise, more consistent moving around is perhaps the most beneficial thing you can do, even better than intense exercise.

Here’s one interesting study in this regard:

paleo fat lossLight physical activity determined by a motion sensor decreases insulin resistance, improves lipid homeostasis and reduces visceral fat in high-risk subjects: PreDiabEx study RCT

In this study, participants were put in one of 2 groups. The first group did no extra exercise, and the second group walked 1 hour 3 times per week.

At the end of the study (3 months), the walkers were healthier in almost every respect – lower fasting blood sugar, less insulin resistance, less fat, and better blood markers.

Walking just 3 hours a week made a huge difference.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen more and more evidence that sitting for long periods of time is highly detrimental, and exercise does not offset the damage done by sitting for long periods of time.

This study, which shows the benefits of simply walking at least 3 times a week shows that light exercise really can make a difference, perhaps because it keeps us from being so stationary.

No Excuses. Walk and Move More.

Most all exercise, including intense exercise, is good for most people, so there’s no reason to forgo whatever type of exercise you most enjoy.

If you’re not doing anything, though, it’s good news to know that you don’t need to do very much to see some pretty good results. Even if you’re a professional sitter right now, it’s not that hard to get started.
