A headline recently came across the news feed that, at least for the coffee drinkers among us, may sound a bit scary: a judge in California has ruled that coffee vendors must post a cancer warning at their locations. The supposed culprit is a substance called acrylamide, which is formed during the roasting process of a variety of foods—coffee, potatoes, and bread, to name a few.
