This Paleo root vegetable mash is easy to make and really delicious. The apple and the turnip add a lot of flavor to it – but there are lots of options for changing this up too.
Paleo Root Vegetable Mash Recipe
I roasted the sweet potatoes and boiled the carrots and turnips, but you can use a variety of methods to cook the vegetables.
I liked the additional flavor the turnip added, but you could try parsnip or white radishes instead.
The apple adds an acidity element to the dish that I love. For a sweeter option, you can use a ripe pear (I really liked that flavor profile as well, but it was a lot sweeter).
Make A Large Batch!
This is another recipe that’s great to make a large batch of and store in the fridge (I usually make double the recipe below). It’s perfect as a side to various dishes like steak or pan-fried fish, but it’s also fantastic when topped with this Paleo sloppy joes recipe.
