It’s no small feat to find a protein bar that tastes great and meets the food-quality standards of the Paleo diet. Some bars are chalky and dry, others sticky and hyper-sweet. Few strike the balance between flavor and nutrition—but AMRAP Bars do this and more with minimal, real-food ingredients and a taste that’s out of this world.

Beloved by CrossFitters and professional athletes, thrill-seeking adventurers and health-conscious snackers alike, AMRAP Bars rely on a base of egg white protein to make a dairy-free bar most Paleo people can enjoy. The addition of nuts, seeds and coconut makes for a protein-rich bar with a good balance of fat and, most importantly, flavor.

“Cleverly designed to deliver the richest nutrition without sacrificing flavor,” AMRAP Bars are available in three flavors: Almond & Honey, Cashew & Vanilla and Fig & Cacao.

Almond & Honey Bars boast 15 grams of protein per bar. With almonds, honey, unsweetened coconut, egg white protein, sesame seeds, cinnamon and sea salt, this bar is a great combination of sweet and crunchy, with just the right hit of salt.

The Cashew & Vanilla Bars are made with cashews, honey, cashew butter, unsweetened coconut, egg white protein, vanilla extract and sea salt. With 12 grams of protein per bar, this bar relies heavily on the flavor of cashews. Smooth cashew butter provides a rich texture, and the addition of vanilla makes for a mild bar that could theoretically work for breakfast or dessert.

Our favorite AMRAP Bar by far was the Fig & Cacao Bar. Not only is the combination of dried figs and rich cacao a genius one, but the end result tastes like a rich, decadent brownie. The Fig & Cacao Bar combines dates, egg white protein, figs, almond butter, almonds, unsweetened coconut, cacao nibs and coconut oil, making for a post-workout supplement that feels like an indulgence but offers 15 grams of protein per bar.

Overall, AMRAP Bars are some of the most delicious bars we’ve tasted. A commitment to ingredient purity, coupled with the creative use of real-food ingredients, makes for an ancestral interpretation of a modern foodstuff that is nothing short of impressive.
